Refillable Revolution: A Hong Kong Hotel Stay
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in Hong Kong and was pleasantly surprised by the absence of single-use plastic water bottles in the room. Instead, I found a reusable glass bottle provided by the hotel, and a water dispenser was conveniently located on the hallway outside my door.
This simple yet impactful initiative is a direct result of Hong Kong’s 2023 Product Environmental Responsibility (Amendment) Bill, which aims to reduce the use of single-use plastics. It was a refreshing reminder of how small changes in our daily lives can make a big difference for the environment.
Imagine a world where supermarkets only need to provide water dispensers, juice machines, milk stations, salad bars, and oil dispensers. Customers would simply purchase a reusable glass bottle once and refill it whenever needed. This is the vision that Boverre is working towards.
